Our Mission

Keep Tularosa Beautiful is dedicated to enhancing the beauty and vitality of our community. With a volunteer base, we are fostering unity and pride in maintaining a beautiful environment. Through volunteer participation, community collaboration, student engagement and village partnerships we are dedicated to the beautification of Tularosa. Together we will create a cleaner, more inviting and vibrant place to live, work and visit.

Serving the community

By identifying achievable projects we are able to make small changes that build a lasting impact. Organizing community clean up events and providing free dump days have removed 45,000 pounds of trash. Working with the village to seek out grant opportunities, we were honored to assist with the 2025 Que Linda Grant.

Empowering youth

Director Rusty, a recently retired school teacher. With his background in education, has been able to work with the Tularosa School system. Injecting educational presentations to elementary age kids. Working hands on with middle schoolers and the civics class. We were able to hear from their mouths how the future of Tularosa should be shaped. Providing them with real hands on engagement. Additionally utilizing the High School FFA and NHS students providing weekly work days to fulfill volunteer obligations.

Making a change

With every project highlighting the greatness and beauty of this historic area. The “Welcome to Tularosa” Mural placed on the east entrance from Alamogordo. The roses planted and maintained in the Medians as a representation of our historic title the “Village of Roses”. Creating youth engagement opportunities with positive roll model guidance. Planning and participating in community events. Seeking every possible avenue for improvements. Making a difference.

2025 Que Linda funding

With the 2025 Que Linda Grant funding we were able to build operational capacity and formalize the Beautification program for the Village of Tularosa. Having been recognized as a valued asset to the community we were able to build a physical workspace.

The purchase of vital equipment such as a computer, vests and trash grabbers was a valuable addition to our volunteer based operations. Purchasing a total of 25 additional metal trash cans that are pedestrian accessible addresses a litter abaidment issue

We were able to address the change of behavior by raising awareness of proper trash disposal locations available.
